- Pentium PII 400 MHz processor (or higher)
- RAM 128 MB
- 10 MB free disk space
- Sound card *
- Modem (or another Internet connection) with 56 kbps (or higher)
* - "Creative Sound Blaster Live!" or
similar sound card is recommended. The frequency response of the record

Test of Sloud MRM Audio Fingerprinting
- Start the mrm_demo.exe application.
- On the MP3 Indexing tab press "Browse" and choose the files you
want to index.
- Press "Start Indexing", wait until the process is finished.
- When the indexing is done you will see a prompt asking if you want
to send your data to the central database. Choose "Yes" if you want to
do in now (if you choose "No", you will not be able to proceed to the
next step).
Important: sending indexes requires an Internet connection. No personally identifiable
information will be transferred.
Test of Sloud MRM Audio Identification
The application can identify aydio records that were indexed at the same
computer only. This limit not technologically-imposed but rather
chosen for clarity of the test and for privacy of the testers. The
step 2 above has to be completed before you can proceed with this
test.
The recording volume level may happen to be too high or too low. This
would cause undesirable distortions of the recorded music. In order to
avoid it, the recording volume level has to be calibrated.
This requirement is imposed by the fact that we are recording audio
from an analog source. If the audio is captured from a digital source,
calibration is not needed. Audio Identification itself does not
require calibration, only the recording does.
Recording from an audio mixer
- Start the mrm_demo.exe application. At the "Record identification" tab
choose "Mixer" from the "Audio Input" list. Your actual name of the audio mixer may be different.
- Set volume of your media player to the middle position. The total volume level (lever #1 in the picture) and the level of the Wave playback (lever #2 ) in the Volume
Control panel should be near maximum.

- In the media player open calibrate.wav file (in the same folder where the
mrm_demo.exe is residing) and play it. In the Sloud MRM
application press the "Calibrate" button.
- If the volume level happens to be non-optimal, the application will display
a message "Calibration error. The playback volume is probably too low".
In that case increase the volume of playback and start calibration again.
- Once the calibration is done you will to see the message: "Calibration is finished". The application
is ready to identify music.
Please do not adjust playback volume after the calibration. If you do
adjust it, run the calibration procedure again.
Audio Identification
- Choose any record indexed in the stage "Test of Sloud MRM Audio
Fingerprinting" and start playing it back.
IMPORTANT! The equalizer, 3D and other sound effects in the media player should be switched off.
- Open the "Record identification" tab.
- Press "Start Capture" at any time during the playback.
- Once 15 seconds or more is captured, press the "Identify" button.
The application will calculate the audioprint of the recorded sample
and send it to the Sloud server for identification. The server will return
the name of the previously indexed file that matches the record, as
well as the contents of its tags.
